New for 2008 is a Canada-exclusive Honda Odyssey DX trim that provides minivan buyers with high value, a fuel-efficient V6 engine, and a full complement of safety features.
Honda sees some new opportunities to expand the Odyssey sales, here are the recent developments that have Honda excited;
-The recent launch of the new Dodge Caravan and like has generated new interest in the minivan catagory.
-Ford has discontinued the Freestar minivan for 2007 leaving their base customers forced into another brand.
-GM will drop the Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac Montana SV6, Buick Terraza and the Saturn Relay at the end of the 2008 model year.
-Toyota has aggressively targeted entry-level buyers with the 7-passenger Sienna CE, representing almost 70% of their total sales.
The 2008 Odyssey DX will compete head to head with the 2008 Toyota Sienna CE with advantages;
-Rear lip spoiler
-Glass integrated radio antenna
-4-wheel disc brakes
-Front and rear independent suspension
-One-touch up/down power driver's window
-Illuminated Vanity mirrors
-Active head restraints
-Roadside Assistance for 3yrs Unlimited Mileage
